mood frustrated
listening to rain and thunders It is pouring heavily outside my window, looking as though the Heavens is trying to drown mankind once again. The pitter patter of the rain is hitting furiously on my window sill and my cool and dewy room feels like a small piece of paradise. My eyelids droop and my mind is almost blank, thanks to a meagre two hours and a half of interrupted slumber. The bed has never looked more beckoning, and the impending arrival of foreseen skipped lecture has never seemed so justified. and yet, there is one major problem. I am having difficulty sleeping. There is an escalating pounding in my head, as though a nightmare is coming to life, an imaginary demon is invading my head everytime i sink my it into the pillow. Insomnia, whatever shit you call it, at such a lovely rarity of a weather. If this is not insanity i dont know what you call it. I want to tear my hair out. Really. *edit ok. so i eventually fell asleep after 45 min of tossing and turning, resulting in me not going for 2101 lecture (see above) and being 30 min late for my 12 o'clock lecture. Talk about repentance. ![]() Sunday, October 30, 2005
listening to Under the Floor by SwitchfootIgnoramus Hippopotamus is taking a dive Many things going on around me have rendered me clueless about what to expect. Where to stop, when to keep walking. I had a revelation yesterday. If we do our part, God is faithful to do His. So i'll just stop caring and bothering. What better way to live life than to live it in complete surrender to the all-encompassing and all-loving hands of the One above? so good bye, farewell. I did not choose it, you did. That said, i've come to a decision to remove my tagboard for now, since the only one who seems to be tagging is only faithful KeerLing. I know you always read my blog. I love you girl. yes you take care too, don't bully des too much. =) And only KeerLing would know that my tagboard has been behaving like a cranky granny for a while now. The lag! it makes people want to kill something while waiting. so good bye to you too. If any of you are absolutely burning in your seats to say your piece, there's always email. I'll see you again when i see you. The term you here is generic and i promise it can't get anymore random than this. There are just so many undesirable you's in my life and it's about time i stop the sporadic queasiness they periodically stir somewhere deep within. I betcha didn't know that. I miss cheeky-cherry rudy. :) Under the Floor by Switchfoot Under the floor Between me and the door There's a presenceI cannot deny It's under the car Between me and the stars I see glory filling up the sky And I'm certain that he hears me He listens even as I sing my song I'm emphatic that he's near me And I can see his touch in everything here Deep is the soul Is the space I control Is the one thing I can call as mine Deeper the cold When he's far from my soul I surrender all of me inside ![]() Saturday, October 29, 2005
mood subduedlistening to If You Believe by Jim Brickman Just put it down, baby! Is that a turquoise overdose or what? anyway, to re-emphasize my point in the previous entry, i'd like to announce that my body is screwed like no other. Messed up like out from a blender. I dont recognise it anymore. Just a while ago it gave me excruciating abdominal irritation that probably stems from my transposed meal times. It's like having a huge elephant residing within that i wished i could slit it open and yank it out. Gory i know. I'm feeling like it. What i feel like doing now, at 3 bloody 25 am, is going for a run. ask me how come not at a more godly hour? and i would ask you to roll your eyes approximately 45 degrees downwards (or scroll down, depending on your screen size) and read the previous entry. The world is going crazy, and the government doesn't care. Rudy is stressed out of his wits and i wish there's something i can do. I hate it when we hit dead end, the feeling of not knowing what to do and simply waiting for what's going to happen next, hoping for inspiration to struck tomorrow. If it doesn't, c'est la vie. Hang in there, ya. hugs. :( I've got sand in my shoes, oh sand in my shoes. I've got bills to pay, deadlines to meet, a love to keep and a song to sing. I've got a brain, two arms, and two feet. And it's not enough, it's not enough. I've got a heart to share, a story to tell, but noone's sharing, noone's listening. You tell me it's ok, you tell me it's alright. But you don't even know me. You dont know me at all. complicatedly simple. How apt. ![]() Friday, October 28, 2005
listening to Kiss the Rain (the song on Keerling's blog)
This song really sets the mood. You gotta experience it to comprehend it. I just want to go somewhere far, to places where i've never been. Where there is no malice behind the looming faces, no animosity between friends, no weight in the footsteps down the hall, no traces of betrayed trust, no worries of unfulfilled obligations. I just want to put everything down and start anew. Lets migrate, shall we? I've survived the few hurdles of tests and assignments this week. The next set of hurdles is beckoning me. And i swear if 'em hurdles have faces they would be grinning at me stupidly. Yes you've won. Thank you so much for screwing my body inside out upside down, very appropriately returning me my slumber and appetite at the weirdest of hours. Like, err.. supper at 4am? So many things to do. But i'm just gonna let my hair down and forget them for a while tonight. A cuppa camomile with honey sounds good aye? ![]() Monday, October 24, 2005
mood fidgetylistening to Come Back to Bed by John Mayer i have more nut than i can chew. ok i'm blogging again *slaps self* when i'm supposed to be doing a thousand and one other more important things. like studying my ass off so as to be a worthy human talent for the sake of the prospering of the nation (whichever one i'm gonna settle in next time) and the advancement of mankind and civilisation. went for a short jog with suzanne and shyuan just now. like finally! No kudos to me though, i still feel fat and unfit. shyuan was just telling suz that she hasn't seen her in months. mark said the same thing when we were all having dinner at the comm hall, which sparked a question of where on earth she has been. This somehow jolted me, cos for the first time i realised that i'm not the only one who has been feeling it. you are right, suz, as people drift apart, expectations fall lower. Maybe it's better that way, because this way disappointments dont have to come to the picture. :) Praise God for good times, let them be freeze-framed in their own time, and leave i shall with those imprints. nothing more, and hopefully nothing less. ok actually i dont know why i'm blogging. I guess i'm just procrastinating, hoping in vain that by the time i reach the end of this post my assignments and obligations will all vapourise into thin air. This is crazy, i'm in an extremely social and crappy mood now and i just wanna talk and type the night away. I feel for myself because i just want to yak and yak. The irony is, noone is ever sincerely and truly there. i miss rudy, but he is always so busy. :( congratulate me, people, cos i have a serious issue. I have a test this friday and next wed. The week after that i have another test, a quiz, and a presentation. A week after i have a major submission, and the week after that is exams. And why do i say i have an issue? because i am still in my social and crappy mood with noone at the receiving end, and this just completed the equation zero mood = zero productivity which proved my point in the previous entry. we need a day to have 8760 hours! and today i close this angsty chapter, for the baton has been passed once and for all. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And i will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Psalms 23 ![]() listening to Seven Years by Norah Jones
I haven't seen you in donkey dinosaur years. Clement has started this block dinner together at 6pm and i must say it actually worked rather well. I, for one, was woken up from my slumber by his continuous msn messages that flickered and generated noise at an interval so regular i just had to wake up. Considering the number of times i've eaten in the comm hall in this semester could actually be counted with just a little more than five fingers, i actually got to talk to people i have not seen in as long as i can remember. Had another 2161 test this afternoon, after being 45 min late for metabolism lecture before that. I crawled back to bed after breakfast, telling myself i would resurrect myself in 30 min and drag myself to lecture. oh such a familiar scenario, innit? lets not rehearse it already, shall we? we just never learn and i know it and you know it so lets not talk about it. haha. Back to 2161 matters, JCRC meeting lasted throughout the night from 8 til 1245 midnight yesterday, which thus resulted in the abovementioned scenario. However, i have pleasantly surprised myself by actually enjoying it since almost day one. It is really not as dreadful as i thought, and i'm rather glad i made the choice and did not back out. :) I sat for the test feeling all slumberish, hungry and lethargic. Halfway during the test my stomach rumbled so loud i was sure one third of the lecture theatre heard. see i even enlarged the font to prove my point. It was making so much funny noises and playing such a symphony that i swear Beethoven would have been proud. And it just would not stop, that damn stomach. Must be my body's way of accusing me of neglect. I wanted so bad to drop all my stationery too, just to make some clanging noise, or for the floor to open up and swallow me. utterly embarassing. I've got so much assignments to do.. why do we just never seem to have enough time? To quote adrian's msn nick, i need a day to have 8760 hours. Oh draw me, oh draw me away, Messiah today, in Your presence to stay... ![]() Sunday, October 23, 2005
mood blessedlistening to Hand me down by Matchbox Twenty Immortalising the Ephemeral. Yay. Operation Cucumberumba was a success. The look on his face, which was comparable to the time when i presented him with his Frank Gehry watch on his 21st birthday, was priceless. :) We went for dinner on friday, nothing elaborately planned, nothing particularly fancy, just a quiet celebration. We strutted down to Esmirada, a spanish restaurant at CHIJMES, and embarked on another one of our favourite gastronomic adventures. The menu they have at Esmirada was simply gorgeous. Rudy had Seafood Extravaganza, which consisted of soft juicy mussels, scallops, crayfish and some other seafood on top of tangy tomato based pasta with a hint of spice, while I went for Chicken Kebab Skewer. It was lightly grilled, served together with lightly grilled capsicum and onion, oven-baked potato and garlic sour cream. The chicken was unbelievable. It was the most tender chicken i've tasted and rudy could vouch for that one hundred percent. Talking about it made me hungry all over again. *drools*
Rudy was so sweet, earlier in the afternoon when we met up for lunch before my lesson, he asked if he can do some studying in my room while waiting for me to finish lecture. So being the accomodating girlfriend that i am, i just passed him my matric card, abandoning the idea that he actually had the potential of rummaging my room, turning it upside down and in the process discovering the crumpler bag he wasn't yet supposed to find out. For your information, i was never a flower person, simply because i think it is an absurd way of spending money, and i just couldn't bear the thought of him spending so much money. but i love them nonetheless. They made my day and i cant take my eyes off them! I wish they could actually last longer too. Keiko was joking that i seem like i'm having buaya week every week, and i sheepishly smirked at her. But i do feel very blessed. God has been very good to me, and i know it's just gonna get better and better. Will post the dinner photos once rudy send them to me. :) ok. back to muggin it is. mood bouncy *ka-boing, ka-boing, ka-boing*
listening to Loving you is easy cause you're beautiful by Minnie Riperton Oh cucumberumba! i'm so ecstatic! my secret operation is finally going to materialise tomorrow. You see, i bought rudy a little something for our anniversary. My faithful Crumpler-keeper of a boyfriend has been mentioning about this Cucumberumba (what's with the name) Crumpler camera bag for a rather long while now, which he never got the chance to lay his hands on since it's not available in singapore. it's been about a year, that's how long it's been. To cut the long story short, i've been doing my virgin gigs surfing idiotically and rummaging through ebay, and one fine day, my eyes rested on the bidding items of this blessed soul who has an array of Cucumberumba bags, in such a myriad of colours i almost hyperventilated from overdosage of adrenaline. This whole ebay saga thingy lasted almost a week plus, involving some credit card error, a trip to the bank, signing up for ebay account, bidding, liasing with the seller, enquiries, 3 days of patient waiting for bidding to close, faithfully checking my bidding status, and come last friday, item was shipped all the way from the Land of Koalas and Kangaroos and coming my way to 20 Heng Mui Keng Terrace!! :) and i had been faithfully checking my pigeon hole since monday like a dog who's lost his bone. like a hamster lost his nibbling block. like a cat lost his yarn ball. whatever you call it. i was actually growing restless and started entertaining all sorts of dark morbid thoughts. What if the seller cheated me? What if the item got accidentally thrown off the aeroplane and never got delivered? What if the postman didn't know where is Sheares hall? What if it fell off his FedEx truck?? so today i came back from lab around 5 and saw a little slip pasted on my pigeon hole and off i strutted to the office to claim my package. Like a little girl marching up to Santa to get her Christmas gift. ok i was actually a bit disappointed because the colours didn't look as fantastic as in the picture on ebay. I actually thought the lining was turquoise when it's actually just the plain ol' boring crumpler-style blue. But no matter! operation cucumberumba is gonna end tomorrow. meanwhile i'm just gonna post this as draft first in case Rudy's itchy hands got to this blog before the appointed time. laters. ka-boing, ka-boing, ka-boing. ok. back to muggin. what a bummer. ![]() Wednesday, October 19, 2005
listening to The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice
The day my boyfriend laughed at me. I've got lab at 9 tmr and i really ought to be sleeping. But sleeping late really does feel good when you feel like it. Heck i'll pay the price tomorrow. Anyways, 2 days ago Rudy had to finish a model for his submission the next day and being the nice considerate girlfriend i am, i forsook my beauty sleep for a day and stayed with him throughout the night cutting styrofoam and cardboard to complete his model. so romantic right. hahahha.... ok. please ignore that. making model is actually quite fun. We managed to finish it all off at 7 in the morning, after which rudy had to settle yet some other drawings while yours truly couldnt tahan anymore and promptly conked out and morphed into a dead pig up til 12 noon. Had lunch, did some work and other nitty gritty stuff, and climbed back into bed at around 8, swearing that i would wake up at 2 plus and burn midnight oil throughout the night. but whaddya know...... opened my eyes to the chirping of birds only at six am. Just on time to be the earliest worm for breakfast at seven and then get ready for tutorial. Boy, sleeping so much really feels super duper goooooood... The university should dedicate a day for Undergraduate Full Resting Day. I removed another one of my wisdom tooth today. Thank You Lord it was just an extraction and no slicing of gum thingymagy. I can't really afford a week's worth of partial immobility right now, especially with exams just around the corner. I got to keep my extracted tooth. It is now safely tucked away in a small zip-loc bag, looking disgusting and grotesque, just like how a tooth is supposed to look like. I am tempted to paste a picture of it here, but by doing so i'm really not being very glam. so i spare you all. Rudy was being sweet to meet me at my dentist after my extraction so that we could head back to school together. When he caught sight of my chipmunk-munching-a-cotton-by-mistake face, he mumbled a "hi", attempted to stifle a laugh and then let it blossom into a full-grown monkey grin. and i am there oozing blood and having a gaping hole on my gum. brilliant, brilliant boy! anyways, i logged onto blogger having a gazillion of things on my mind. but i've forgotten it all. so i shall just conclude. yang, you're not irritating. i was just kidding. *hugs* :) ![]() Saturday, October 15, 2005
hooked on to Angel in Digsuise by Corinne May
current mood by Colorgenics mood test You are seeking protection against anything which might seem to be exhausting you or tiring you out. It would appear that you are seeking a life of security and physical ease, free from any problem or disturbance. You are trying to improve your position and prestige - be it in your life or in your workplace. Things are, at this time, OK - but they could be better. You feel that it is essential that you break down any opposition that could possibly lurk in the shadows. You know that you are quite capable of achieving this set goal because you have to and because it is essential to your self esteem. Conditions are rather confusing at this time. You would like to involved with a particular person or a particular situation but you are holding back. You find it difficult to make a decision. Inherent in you is suppressed agitation. This is due to the fact that you are finding it increasingly difficult, if not impossible to relax. You are driving yourself to a state which is possibly beyond the capacity of your resources. Of late you have been impatient, irritable and hectic. This situation is indicative of hypertension or other stressful disorders. An unsatisfactory state of some close association is intolerable. Trust and self-esteem have been lost and you feel that you are unable to do anything to restore the belief, affinity and mutual trust. You feel powerless to change the situation which is the result of complete and utter disharmony. Be it through unfulfilled emotional requirements, whatever the circumstances you are experiencing considerable stress, be it mental or physical. To your credit you are attempting to escape from this by endeavoring to create a semblance of peace and serenity by refusing to allow yourself to be involved. You have the strength to 'pull through' and all indications are that you will... perhaps sooner than you even believed possible. omg... these people who created colorgenics are psychotic. how do they read people's mind using colour blocks? They are so accurate. every single word. and i'm freaked out. like totally. ![]() listening to Mr. Beasley by Corinne May
Wag my tail and Walk away hello again, world. Michael Buble concert had come and gone, which i enjoyed tremendously. He was so funny!! I came in expecting to sit for a mild, pleasant sing-song jazzy jamming session and 10 minutes into the concert, i had to hold my jaw to prevent it from dropping. His voice was so good and he sings and jokes with utter lack of effort. After noticing that some pranksters were flashing their cameras throughout the concert despite warnings from Sistic, he relented and proceeded to entertain us with his monkey poses and invited the audience to grab this "chance" to take pictures of him. He did a playful imitation of all sorts of songs genre, from opera style Josh Groban to Maroon 5's, Ray Charles, and also Wacko Jacko, which was hilarious! and may i add, his version of This Love, was so much better than Maroon 5. haha. And as Abhi and i were discussing, Michael Buble is just so talented, he could have just gone to the mic and started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars and it would have sounded like some Pavarotti-worthy item. The band which accompanied him was incredibly fantastic too, everything just worked out so fine, and everyone harmonised so perfectly at his slightest cue. so yes, i was greatly entertained by the concert, but sans the hair-tearing wait for the bus to get out of Kallang. I tell you, i hate the indoor stadium, it's just so inaccessible. Rudy and I went to Geylang after that for dim sum supper, which was sumptuous (drools) despite the unfavourable location. Saw some #$^%$ for the first time in my life, and i was rather shocked, because they were just so in your face. and those were just the tip of the iceberg. sigh. nonetheless, it was a magical night =) Cheers to one year of love. Am listening to Lets call the whole thing off by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It's such a funny song! "You say potaeto, i say potato, you say tomaeto, i say tomato, oh lets call the whole thing off!" haha, thanks Keiko.. Felt like i got to know you a little more today :) My friend, M seems to be having some problem with the big el-oh-vee-ee.. eventhough i dont know in details what exactly happened, and whether or not she even still reads my blog, my heart goes out for her. and i truly hope everything falls into place quickly, that you find that missing jigsaw you're looking for. *hugs* I've been a little high on Kinder Bueno for a while now. Blame it on the school co-ops for selling it at an offer price. The word "offer" or "sale" or "clearance" or "buy 1 get 1 free" really does have it's jinx effect on shoppaholics like yours truly. I never used to buy Kinder Bueno. I thought they were nice and creamy and chocolatey, but that's about that. I dont even freaking know why i'm buying them more often now, it's just what, 20 cents cheaper? But i can't help it. It's the offer sign working its magic. ok. what an crappy and incoherrent post. i shall just time out now. My point is, que sera sera. i wanna smell the flowers. ![]() Monday, October 03, 2005

hooked on to Look What You've Done by Jet Everyone in hall seems to be either in love, rumoured to be in love, scandalously in love, or think that they're in love. i'm telling you, these people are literally mushrooming! (keerling i'm talking about you too. hahahaa) It's just so amusing, thinking that at the very exact same time last year, i was in their shoes. now all these blossoming romeos and juliets are making me feel like some grandmother. Had my test just now, which was crap. ok, semi-crap. I just dont understand why i never seem to be able to finish cm2161 questions. there was obviously insufficient time! Thank God the single-phase system questions were a saving grace. or so i think. argh-ness. ![]() Sunday, October 02, 2005
mood ecstatic
listening to Somewhere Somehow by Wet wet wet quando, quando, quando... ooh la la.. ok i'm feeling totally like a happy bunny now. In 2 weeks' time it would've been one year since me and rudy got together. 1st year anniversary. typing it all out suddenly gives it a somewhat corny feel and rather cliche sound. i'm just not used to it since i've never had any 1st year anniversaries to boast to date. it's been a year already, how mercilessly fast time flies. There had been times when i would reminisce about the good ol'days, when things were so honey-mooney and everything felt so magical, as though things were right out of a insert-a-disney-movie-here and we were our own make-believe casts, writing our own love story. But i guess a relationship isn't all about being in a perpetual jolly-bolly, it is about tiding each other through life, good or bad, and finding beauty in each other's weaknesses. So yesterday, my dear rudy (who normally has a penchant for blurting things out), after much difficulty in suppressing the urge, told me that he bought tickets for us to watch Michael Buble's one night concert for our anniversary. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so touched. cos i know that the tix are so pricey, and we've all been trying to live frugally and all, eating mostly home made sandwiches and cutting down on cabs, plus the building pledge to fulfil. the tix must have cost a bomb. and to think that he was actually quite upset thinking that i'd rather watch quidam since i've been raving so much about it. who needs quidam when you've got michael buble and a sweet boyfriend all in a package, complete with a big red ribbon and cherry on top, all for myself? :D yay we're gonna watch michael buble! *prances around and throws confetti* on to less romantic issues, i got into JCRC. I'm not sure how, but thank you so much to all the block dee people who bothered to cast a vote. It really weren't the votes that mattered, i'm touched that you folks didn't make me feel that alone after all. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much you're appreciated. :) Rushed back from cg for JCRC meeting yesterday which lasted all the way til 4 am. Cought a quick 3-hr snooze before heading to church, and someone pls gimme a wallop and get me off my laptop cos i'm supposed to be studying for my cm2161 test tomorrow. and i've got another JCRC meeting tonight. Things dont seem very favourable for now, but no matter. live for the moment. Many things on other fronts seem to be looking more promising. Dad just bought a car, cg was good, i think i didn't screw up for guitar, JCRC saga is over, i'm out of the valley. Things should be going uphill from here. :) ![]() |
