mood pensive
listening to Where is your heart by Kelly Clarkson

Remnants of the whole house-moving buzz are still lingering. workers coming in and out, unfixed furnitures, woods falling off here, bathtub leaking there and the likes. My two smart monkeys, i mean dogs, actually managed the feat of squeezing themselves through the tiny spaces between the metal grills of the main gate. so we needed to stick some plastic board on it as well, to prevent them from roaming the streets free when noone is looking. Them sneaky pups.

The new house is presumably much comfier and slightly bigger than old one. we now actually have a big garden, complete with nice greens left my the owner, and a pond too, as compared to the barren grounds in the old place which was unable to bear any grass because the chickens kept munching on them. yes, so you could have guessed, the chickens didnt get to move along with us to the new place.

so having a garden is actually interesting. now, other than over pots of cooking vegetables or stew, during commercial breaks or perhaps while lazing on the bed, me and my mum can occasionally catch up on one another while plucking weeds too! like today.

on to something completely off tangent, i'm missing some old days. sigh.

COUCH POTATO!

Apparently my dad subscribed to cable tv a few months ago, and having been away from indo for a year already, coming back was indeed met by many little hidden surprises. my little brother 7 years younger is now nearly as tall as me, and he no longer croaks!
i think i've watched more TV these 2 days compared to those i've watched in the past 3 years added together.

dum-dum..

the couch potato is ripe and ready to be baked.

i still cannot see my tagboard.. but i logged onto tagboard.com and saw the new tags.

suzanne: oei!!! i thought you left already. have fun in Europe, i'm so envious! hrmpf. havent had time to shop at all here.. busy with the packing and all. dont worry i havent forgotten your straw bag. :)

rudy: i miss you babyyyyyyyy... :)

gid: ..................

huiru: indo is so far so good, a little boring though, for now. haha.

mood groggy

Just Blogging. For the sake of blogging.

wokie.. things haven't actually gotten interesting, but i'm blogging anyway, simply because i feel like blogging. geez, my dog is making so much din in the kitchen begging the cockroach hiding behind the stove to come out and be his toy.

i found my sister's Danielle Steel novel yesterday and i finished it this morning. it had kept me comfortably occupied for quite a while and now that it's officially done, i feel a little lost.

Been sleeping quite an awful lot lately. it's as though my body is magnetised by the bed. whenever i lie on it, wham.

zzzz...

Went to see the house we're gonna move into after dinner today to check the works. came back around 7pm and i actually fell asleep until 10.15... and you know what's the best part, after waking up i still feel the same. you know in movies and tv shows, you see the actors/actresses waking up in bed, preferably with a loved one beside them, looking as though they sleepwalked and put on makeup halfway in their sleep so that when they eventually wake up, voila, they look like they're ready for photo shoots. then they say, "oh, what a beautiful morning!"

i simply couldn't bring myself to do the same, cos after sleeping and resting and resting, i still feel like crap. what is it?? regular meals, sleep early, camomile tea, tomato juice, vitamin C. other than the exercises which i've yet to find time to do, i'm practically detoxifying myself already. and i'm still not getting myself fixed. i literally feel like a zombie.

In The Wilderness

Haven't been bloggin for quite some time. yes, guilty as charged. And as always, there's a checklist of events that i'm too lazy to list. but City Harvest's Emerge Youth Conference has come and gone! and i absolutely loved it.. it was so great to spend three days in the familiar and powerful presence of God. indeed, in Your presence, I am made whole.

Left for Bali on the 11th June. Rudy actually took the trouble to come back from Malaysia a day earlier on the 10th June! so i postponed my flight a day late (supposed to fly off on the 10th) so that i could meet him for a day and also so that i could attend my svc on friday night.

so yes, am typing away on this ugly, ancient piece of metal back home in Bali. how i miss my broadband, wireless connection in hall. The dialup connection here is simply ridiculous, and many times i had to restrain myself from banging my head into the monitor. he's sitting in front of me now looking smug, clearly oblivious to what damage it has done to my patience.

the webpages take so long to load, and one of its ill side-effects is that i cant see my tagboard everytime i go to my blog page. ack... operation timed out. y'know.

anyways, havent been up to much, other than packing and packing for the upcoming house-moving on the 18th. as a result, the luxury of going downtown to shop, check out new eateries and cafes is out of question. my mum, my only access to civilisation, is too pre-occupied for the moment to be my chauffeur. hee.

seriously, i cant wait to learn how to drive.

i guess this well-deserved break away from s'pore was just what i needed, afterall i hadn't come back for a year already. the only thing i disliked about being back is how restless and bored i tend to get at times, my only source of company being msn conversations and occasional smses to a few people. it is irritating talking to computer and handphone screens. you gotta figure out the moods and emotions of the person you're talking to.

just think, you can be feeling crappy but still force yourself to type lotsa smiley faces and make the other party assume that nothing's wrong. like this.

:) :) :)

you see its effects?

and when you say "hello", without exclamation marks or dot.dot.dot whatsoever, you're pretty much leaving it to the other party's imagination to guess what your real tone is.

it could be hello as in, "hello.. oh it's you again.. geez actually i dont really feel like talking to you now, but since you said hello first, now i have no choice."

or a hysterical hello as in, "hello!!!!!!! it's so nice to see you!!!"

or a nice, warm "hello, that's a nice surprise!"

or simply an expressionless greeting like, "oh.. hello."

you get what i mean?

so there you go... so essentially being left in an island with technology as my only reliance for contacts with my peers, life can get pretty exciting. it's all imagination at works from now on.

i've been eating very sensibly and healthily eversince arriving back home too.. want to get my health back in check before school starts.. it's sriously a pain to be feeling woozy almost all the time. went for a checkup a while back and found out i have low blood pressure. that explains all the headaches and lethargies. so upsetting.. to think that last time i was the one who never took MCs in my secondary school and JC days.

my camomile tea has been a hit with my folks and sibs. i try to drink a cup or two everynight. it's supposed to calm the body and rid stress, and these two nights i end up making tea for the whole family. add a teaspoon of honey per cup. it tasted wonderful. :)

will update again when things get a little more interesting.

mood worn out

i've been H I T.
In the midst of insomnia and mild lovesickness, i've been hit by a sudden and violent bout of nostalgia.
i am missing NY days.

yesterday my mum and I went shopping at suntec + millenia. I came back with a small heap of things and and a gargantuan piece of guilt tagged to the day's loot. why? because my wallet was still pretty much intact. my mum's wasn't, obviously.

We bought a hundred-odd dollars worth of lingerie from La Senza and then went to this choc shop called Ernest Hillier Delectable Chocolates at Millenia. it was full of chocolates, and we were like two little kids lost in a candy shop, literally. i pondered over the nougats for a good 15 minutes wanting to get some for rudy, before realising that they were mostly rock-hard and teeth-unfriendly nougats.

after a while, in a bout of the notorious impulsive buying phenomenon, my mum and I, each armed with a plastic bag, went to the $3.80/100g section and merrily picked from the myriad of colourfully-wrapped little sins. we went crazy for a while, comparing our loots.
she was accusing me for choosing uninteresting-looking chocolates while i was chiding her for bagging so many!! In the end, we spent, or rather, my MUM spent thirty dollars worth of hand-picked chocs. madness.

so a while ago i was just sorting those colourful little things, lamented that some of them melted a little but rejoiced soon after because that meant i could eat them after chucking them in the fridge for 2 minutes.

and then i thought of Gunardi.

-gideon, stop laughing-

He was the first indonesian i met in Nanyang before realising that we were in the same class.
i just remembered that last time he always got me, gideon and khala yummy chocolates when he got back from Germany. so all those chocolates-sorting just reminded me of him. mainly because Ernest Hillier also sold the German-made Hanuta hazelnut chocolates that he used to get us! and then, hit by the said wave of nostalgia, my mind just drifted to those Nanyang JC days.

Skipping lectures with gideon, dragging timid little khala to skip lessons and go to Macs with us, then getting caught in the canteen by Ms Choong together. Copying tutorials together, flunking physics tests together, then got scolded by Mr Neo in front of the class together.
me and gideon always finding ways and means to skive and skip redpill meetings, by hook or by crook. waiting for yenny after classes, the routine walk to the prata stall, sigh.

so many things have changed..

often at the crossroads of life, faced with the need for circumstantial changes, we all dutifully tell our pals, nothing will really change. but being a little more discerning and grown now, i think that's childish. Tears are shed not because things are oh-so-sad, but simply in acknowledgement for the fact that things do and will change. whether you like it or not.

so now i am missing those days terribly. days when i was still finding my way to adulthood but still bound by the obligations of donning mud-looking uniforms. and i don't even have photos to look back on. because gideon has been owing me photos for 2 years already, still with no sign of repentance.

hmm.. those days.

mood jittery

my ipod mini has gone abit wonky. woke up and dialled the number of the service centre but noone picked up. hrmpf.. how am i supposed to get it fixed like that.

i drank a mug of water, log onto msn, bummed around for a while, thought of what to do today.

tried to mentally mix and match what to wear today.

think i'll give the apple service centre a miss since my call didn't get through.

then i remembered. and it was like a javelin just poked through my heart and pinned me to the ground.

my results are gonna be out in 40 minutes.
