mood resigned listening to Clarity by John Mayer The days of my holiday are numbered! and with every stroke past midnight, another strike marrs the purity of my calendar, rendering it into criss-crossed numbers that seem to be increasing at an alarming rate. yes, as you can see, i love my holiday that much. People always seem to ask, so what have you been doing the past two weeks? oh. my. goodness. you mean it's been two weeks already? *bites fingers* Other than my wisdom tooth surgery which partially consumed my mobility for 3 days, i've been making trips to the Indonesian embassy in the quest of renewing my passport. i tell you, my blood pressure promptly rises everytime i visit that God-forsaken place. ulu and ironically inaccessible despite being right smack in the middle of orchard road, i can accept. at most take cab from mrt. no NETS transaction. urgh, i can tolerate. no ATM machine, *pulls hair by the roots*, almost went bonkers. unhelpful, rude, inefficient i'm-high-up-there-you're-like-an-ant-so-shut-up immigration officers, that's it, man. thank God i'm only going there once every five years. any more often than that i may need to travel with drips, a personal masseuse and high-blood pressure medication. anyways! met up with my mum today and accompanied my aunt for medical check up at camden medical centre. boy, that place is super posh. my aunt consulted this nutritionist lady to enquire about her diets and we were charged $30/half hour of consultation. $5 every 5 minutes for the subsequent time exceeded. i so want her job, man. never mind that you have a beautiful working place, you get to tell people what to eat, and you get paid just for talking. if i become a nutritionist, i can talk to my friends on the phone and at the end of it say, "eh, 2 hours, so that would be $12o thank you." even if that means asking them to eat char kway teow 3 times a day, they'll listen to me because i'm an accredited nutritionist. haha. my mum is so sweet, she brought me 3 packs of pizza-flavoured Ritz biscuits from indonesia cos she knows i love them. eventhough they have it here too. ^^ " and there i was, thinking. oh no!! THREE packs! how to finish? not mentioning how much kilos i'm gonna be piling. but look who's talking.. already half a pack gone by now. in less than 15 minutes. i weighed myself today, found out that i lost 3 kg after my exams and subsequent wisdom tooth surgery. so people, if you wanna lose weight, enroll yourself in a university, prefereably on a tiny island called singapore, south of Malaysia, slightly further than Thailand just fyi, and remove all your wisdom teeth too just for a bonus. I guarantee you a Kate Moss. sometimes i wonder if some people still bother how i am. am i still just an ice queen that won't defrost? dont say that i'm being insecure because i'm not. grown out of it yonks ago. Some incidents just inevitably stir the murky thoughts. superficial "how are you's", only-there-when-they-need-you voices, faces. i'm so tired i don't even wanna elaborate anymore. just know that i won't stick around for long. i'm not a tree trunk that sits around waiting for mushrooms to grow on me. Pastor once said, you lose what you take for granted. and i can almost cry agreeing with him. 13 days to sun, sea and sand.

mood bouncy listening to Derniere Valse by Ono Lisa hooked onto making earrings.as the title of the post suggests, i'm hooked to making dangly earrings! met up with khala today , went crystals hunting and trudged home with loads of hunts. ahhh.. i absolutely love earrings. now i have crystals to create a lifetime's worth of earrings. ok, maybe half a lifetime. anyone wanna buy? lelong! :D my mum arrived in singapore today and will be around for another 2 weeks.. yay.. can meet up with her more often for meals so that i dont need to burn a whole in my wallet scouting for meals three times a day. sigh. the tragic plight of a hostelite during holidays. am finally going back to indonesia after a year's absence from home. 10th of june is coming soon, and i dont know if i should be dreading or rejoicing over it.

mood bored listening to All at Sea by Jamie Cullum Went to IKEA with suzanne and her folks today! like finally. Got myself a frame i've been procrastinating to buy. yipeeyay... anyways.. now i know why i like IKEA so much. it's the heavy whiff of wood that greets you the moment you enter the building! it feels as though they transported a piece of mother nature into a building, plants and all. maybe that's also why i'm vaguely attracted to petshops (other than the fact that they house animals). because of the wood sawdust in the hamster's cage! err.. rather idiosyncratic i know. i just love nature. maybe next time i should marry a carpenter. kidding, KIDDING.... then i'll set aside a space in my garden and plant lots of vegetables. cucumber, carrots, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, maybe some fruits too, and pretty flowers. oh maybe a bit of chilli. but not too much cos rudy doesn't take chilli. so everyday i can just make a trip to my garden and pluck out a carrot or two when i want to cook dinner. if they overgrow i can always bless my neighbours! Then i'll promote healthy living and make salads everyday, and make rudy eat them too. hahaha... good life, that one.

mood tickled i just adopted a virtual pet. you can see it below the links section at the side navigation bar of this blog. you can feed it too! haha, it was so amusing. for a moment i was tempted to get the hamster one because it was just so cute. and the dog one will "woof" when you feed it! but then, let this be a tribute to rudy, who is a goldfish freak. and i was on the verge of naming that animation after him too. =D ok i'm sounding very infantile. shall stop. i'm very hungry now.. and i still dont dare to eat anything solid. drank a cup of cereal using a straw a few hours ago so that i can take my painkiller. the wound is still bleeding a little. yucks.
Felice @ 9:32 PM

mood agonised gone. for good.Everything is there for a reason. So why on earth did God create wisdom teeth? not that they make us wiser. so WHY??? i removed one of mine today. that little miserable piece of thing was growing sideways, being very problematic and basically just being a total pain the the neck and therefore off, it had to go. if anyone tells you that removing a wisdom tooth is no big deal, he is LYING. it was a complete agony. and i have absolutely no idea how divyan is gonna remove four of his in one go. dude, i suggest you meditate on it a day or two. you are SO going to regret it. The surgery itself wasn't all that bad, in fact it was the breeziest part of the whole emotional mayhem. The anaesthesic jabs were disgusting. When you've got a cavity the doc would normally just give you a jab and after that momentarily sting it was al finito. but today, i had to stomach in total about seven jabs. He was just happily pricking and jabbing away and i am telling you, my gum literally felt like a glob of jelly, you know, like you cut it, prick it and it still retains in shape but it is in fact already cut all over. i swear i could feel the needles penetrating my gum, over and over and over and over. it was absolutely grotesque. but after a while the numbness sets in and the subsequent jabs were not as bad. so the whole of my right jaw was practically dead. you could have hit a tennis ball across that area of my face and i wouldn't feel a thing. the dentist was just working away with my tooth, pushing, pulling, pinching, and occasionally i heard "crack" sounds. He could have been turning me into a cyclop or planted microchips in my gum and i wouldn't know. and then, he started humming. and i went antsy all over again. it's either my surgery is getting very complicated that he had to hum to calm himself, or it was such a bore that he had to find entertainment. in the form of humming. what song i dont know. i might have been Pink Panther. when it was over, the dentist asked if i wanna keep my tooth. i mumbled an "Eeee..." and i think he got my point. it was so difficult to talk when you can't feel half your jaw. and the worst, worst, worst part was after i walked out of the clinic and was on my way back. The anaesthesia was wearing off and it started to throb really bad, while i still had a cotton ball resting in my mouth to stop the bleeding, looking like a chipmunk. I straightaway downed 2 painkillers the moment i was back and then changed the cotton and went to bed. oh did i mention that sterilised cotton tastes disgusting? especially if it has a lot of blood in it. When i woke up a while ago and proceeded to the toilet to change it again, the moment i took it out the stupid cotton piece was a disgusting shade of red and all soaked in blood. I promptly broke into a cold sweat, was near fainting and clumsily rushed back to my room to lie on the bed. it was horrible. It may have been because i hadn't eaten anything proper the whole day too, but all in all i just cannot stand blood. Some people have asked me why i didn't apply for a medicine course, so can you just imagine what kind of complete chaos and hullabaloo the operating theatre would be in if i get to perform surgeries? no, wait. dont imagine. gives me shudders just thinking about all the bloodied mess. *knees go weak again* my most sincere apology if any of you happen to have a coming wisdom tooth removal surgery. i hope i haven't given you any nightmares. It was not that bad. really.
Felice @ 6:33 PM

mood restless and so, i'm sleepless again. that's it. i'm suffering from insomnia. it is official. so this time what did i do to keep me entertained? this. The infamous Numa numa song which i found again. haha.. ok sleep.

mood thoughtful listening to Flowers in the Window by Travis Time indeed changes a great deal of things. Maturity, perspectives, mentality, mindsets, attitude. And in our very own make-believe images of what constitutes happiness, often we neglect the unique destiny that our Maker has so lovingly carved in our very soul. We threw tantrums when those fuzzy wuzzy and picturesque fairy-tale scenario we conjured in our mind faded in colours, started losing its brilliance and lustre. We chained our ankles to an imaginary anchor somewhere along memory lane, stubbornly clinging to what already is slipping through our fingers, persistent in our futile efforts of retaining what was never meant to be kept. 'Til God had to tug at our sleeves and coerce us to move on, for good old days; there are none. I learnt it the hard way, but i'm glad I moved on. All is done, all is well.

mood tired hooked on to Fallen by Sarah McLachlan aaaaaaahhhh....... eurghhhhhhh.......... ngrhhhhhhh.....sorry i was strectching (OMG. i lost the ability to spell) streching. stretching. stretching. It's been an exhausting week. went for all three nights of conferences in church and stayed throughout for svc 4-6 today, which was awesome. Pst Phil's preaching impacted me a great deal, it was like having a spiritual bath. indeed, one day in the house of God is better than a thousand days in the world! today, in between sermons Pst Phil was making some jokes about how husbands tend to buy their wives things which they themselves want their wives to have (think slimming package), not what their wives really want. "What your wives want are diamond rings! and all the wives say?" and i just unconsciously echoed an amen together with some hundred odd housewives, before i nearly choked on my amen and tried hard to stop myself from guffawing my way out of my embarrassing predicament. and i swear i suddenly acquired a third eye that could read thought bubbles. and the thought bubbles of wangfang sitting beside me read, " !!???!! " anyways, slept only at 4am this morning and had to chop-chop get ready for church at 7.30am. moments like those... i secretly wished a fairy godmother will appear just like how she did cinderella, and save me the hassle of mix-matching my tops and bottoms. not that i have a lot to choose from. what a disgrace to vanity. i found this funny excerpt from someone's blog, which is actually some forwarded email. thought it was kinda amusing. so, presenting... What does Love mean?A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think: "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8 "When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy- age 7 "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5 "Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6 "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." ---> well, chocolates and good food make me smile fine too! :D
Terri - age 4 "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7 "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8 "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 (Wow!) "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate." Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet) "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7 "Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6 "During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8 "My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - age 6 "Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine-age 5 "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." ---> Awww..
Chris - age 7 "Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4 "I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4 ---> truly, ignorance is bliss, ain't it? tsk."When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image) Karen - age 7 "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6 "You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8 ------- My my.. i don't remember myself being so intellectual when i was young. If i had had to answer that kind of question then, i'll probably say something like, Love is when two people get married and make babies. or Love is when cookie monster finally shares his cookies with somebody. which isn't quite likely. or i'll probably shrug and say i don't know. and that i dont think i'll ever be in love cos i just don't see it. or something morbid or outright stupid along that line, you get the idea. thank God for growing up, amen? =)

mood beat hooked on to My Simple Song by Giving My Best. City Hall . Broken belt . Soggy pastries . Melted ice cream . Smudged mascaraFinally met up with Gideon after much much much confusion. Honestly, how do event planners/ organisers make a living? salute. Were walking rather aimlessly, abandoned plans of watching movie or going to the jazz bar, and just talked the night away, eating ice cream straight from the tub while sitting across Singapore river. It was just an incredibly lazy night, at least for yours truly. Been in a rather melancholic and sombre mood lately. a mix of bored reluctance and the ubiquitous restlessness i've grown all too familiar with. like a goldfish trying to jump out of the aquarium. which reminds me of the Bacardi Breezer advertisement on those quirly ZO post cards. A story of a fish which jumped out of his little home by weaving water plants into an escape staircase. the note he left goes, "Plant, glass wall. Plant, glass wall. Going round and round and ... HAD IT! @#*%!! Need a real drink!" and off he went to get his Bacardi. hahaha... ok. nonsense alert. it's 2am. apparently my body clock is still in dire need of a quick fix. it briefly occured to me that perhaps i should have signed up for the special term to clear some modules. maybe i'll graduate faster that way. Been frequenting a few blogs and websites which have some very very impressive photography and graphic design.. it's funny how whenever my eyes get hold of a superb or inspirational piece of artwork, my heart goes pitter patter and i feel the bottom of my stomach sink a little lower and does a quick somersault. it's like a crush. perhaps too numerous to keep count but that first glance was arresting. momentarily breathtaking. what, i reiterate, WHAT am i doing in food science and technology? i love good designs. when i park myself at borders i find myself zooming straight to those interior, graphic design section. and cookbooks of course. and i could just drown myself in those images like a small girl with bunny teeth and ponytail lost in a candy shop. i love looking at rudy's portfolio. i think my boyfriend is talented. and no, i'm not biased. i should bug him to teach me photography. but goodness gracious all the memory work drives me nuts. *bites fingers* so depth of field depends on aperture and aperture depends on the size of opening and big holes equals shallow depth of field and small holes equals deep field and then shutter speed is ... *ramble-ramble* ... eh, wazzat? people say that isn't easy for one to admit one's weaknesses, but i can say with all honesty that i lack discipline. i often start on a high note and let the music fade midair into an unfinished symphony of complacency and mediocrity. i lose momentum easy. as a kid, my mum enrolled me into a frenzy of courses and tuitions. ballet (which was a flop cos i had a penchant for escalating my teacher's blood pressure with my idiocy), piano, drawing class, math, english, and violin. a brief stint not too long ago. My drawings were always above average, i could do mental calculations faster than my peers could say abc, as a primary school kid i finish my tests barely 10 minutes after it commenced while my classmates struggled with adding 56 to -17, my violin tutor thought i was a freak and asked me what my IQ was, and i played my first worship song within 2 days of picking up a guitar. sigh, so much for a grand beginnings. it's ok! i'm gonna pick it up where i left. A tree doesn't struggle to bear fruits. it struggles to get sources of water.Lord, i need Your living water.

mood tickled hooked on to New Way to be Human by Switchfoot hahahahaha... rudy did a short impromptu recording using the iTalk that i got him. God knows how it landed in my iTune list, but i was just having my songs playing in random, and after Boyzone's Father and Son faded away, next on the list, i suddenly heard the all too familiar voice which went "Hey felice, i got you this iPod because yadda yadda.." =) funny.. anyway, the current feel and vibes of Sheares Hall is almost like that of a graveyard. on level five, there's only me and my neighbour, who is hardly around anyway. i don't know why some people couldn't bear the thought of staying at home. i like staying at home. i'm quite a homebody. and i'm loving this solitude and relishing every moment of it, before the hustle bustle that comes along with the starting of the term builds up all over again. of course, settling my meals have been such a chore, i wish i have someone cook for me.

mood calm hooked on to A Love That Will Last by Renee Olstead Rudy left for Malaysia for exchange this afternoon. and i'm missing my baby already. suddenly my phone isn't beeping as much, and when it does beep there's a knowing that it is a message that comes from the other side of the globe. okay fine, malaysia isn't very far, but still. Now i can't drop a casual text saying "wanna meet for lunch?" or "hey dear where are you?" because obviously lunch isn't possible without crossing a sea, and to answer the latter question, where he is won't really matter anymore, cos he isn't very near anyway. hmm.. 3 months is kinda long. going back to Bali in early june. how i'm gonna spend a month and a half in that boring little island? i'm not too sure. if anyone wanna keep me company, i will be most humbly grateful. Bali is a beautiful place really, but only if you dont need to depend on a parent to drive you around. For a glimpse of how my life in bali is like during holidays, check out my june posts last year and you'll get an idea. anywhoo.. suddenly i have a lot of time in my hands, and seriously all i wanna do is sleep them all away. God, please let it pour and rain cats and dogs tomorrow morning, so that i can snuggle up to my bolster a little longer under my comfy cover. man, i just love the rain. That's if i'm not outside the comfort of my little dwelling, hitching my jeans, balancing my umbrealla while bracing wet muddy grounds and giant puddles of water. still no mood to blog. bleargh. shall make a trip to IKEA maybe tomorrow to do some furniture shopping. =)

mood liberated hooked on to Disneyland by Five for Fighting Yes, i just have to blog about this, ain't it.. EXAMS ARE OVER!!!! yes i know what a tortoise i am. all of you must be halfway partying already. so after my last paper ended at 11 I trudged to McD at engin to meet rudy who was having breakfast (hello it's lunchtime..) and i wasn't exactly in my chirpiest mood because my paper wasn't as good as i had expected it to be. i couldn't stand it. i just always seem to screw up a lot of the things i do in NUS, whether i like it or not. Starting out on a high note but never seeming to end it well. nevermind. next semester! so i was just idly sitting there breathing the air of freedom and half-watching him eat his sausage mcmuffin and thinking about my post-exam havoc-fest when he asked, "so when are you gonna get your ipod? what colour?" Then i remembered that i had procrastinated on getting it earlier cos i didn't want to get distracted while having exams, yadda yadda. and while i was halfway finishing my sentence, he berry, berry sneakily fished out a very small bundle with white earpiece and wire sticking out of it. my turqoise ipod miniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i was momentarily stunned there as though God had just transported all the jellyfish in the sea to NUS' MacDonald's just for the occasion. you see i'm never very good at surprises. the same happened with the Swatch incident. i just have a tendency to forget to breathe and not knowing whether i should resume blinking or move. is swallowing my saliva okay? So a moment later after i remembered that i had ended my exams and was sitting at McDonald's with my boyfriend, staring at the little sleek blue gadget in front of me, did it start to sink in. i've gotten my ipod a week early! true, i would have gotten it sooner or later anyway, but having it in my hands at such apt moment chased away my exam blues quite effectively. *grin* and my darling even wrapped my ipod in the blue ipod socks which he got his cousin to ship over all the way from US, since i'd never get it here considering the fact that they sell it at a pack of 6 at such ridiculous price. plus the screen protectors and belt clip and the translucent cover too! so happy.. thanks dear.. =) akh... still no mood to blog. Things to do after exams: Buy ipod mini- Remove wisdom tooth (urgent)
- Go to embassy and renew passport (urgent)
- Apply for UOB Debit card
- Memorize verses for Word Power (urgent)
- Book my air ticket
- Read my camera manual so that i know how to use it properly
- Learn photography from rudy!
- Finish up Anna and Mister God
- Figure out how to use photoshop
- Meet up with giddeot and khala! =D

mood bloated & sickeningly melancholic listening to Each Time by E17 Hakuna Matata!yes i know i shouldn't be caught blogging... last paper tomorrow at 9am. God, tell me how on EARTH am i gonna overcome my larger-than-life inertia and wake the pig in me to sit for an arduous two hour paper? boo hoo hoo... everyone is partying away around me. suzanne, shyuan and the gang is leaving for malaysia tonight. as a matter of fact, they should be getting ready to leave for the train station now, while i'm trapped here with my bum rooted to my creaky chair. in front of me stand the last pile of paper i gotta devour before i chuck all my books aside for a 3 month holis. tough tough. and i've been hooked onto many many online shopping sites. so many pretty knick knacks and little lacy tops at exorbitant prices but since they are so beautiful they just effortlessly tore me away momentarily from my notes. aiyo... see no evil, hear no evil. my mum doesn't allow me to go to KL in june. so the prospect of being merry and rewarding myself with a few days' getaway after such torturous bout of examinations promptly evaporated. and the nice fuzzy wuzzy images i've conjured up in my mind while hypnotising myself to sleep the night before went poof just at the arrival of a text message. Thoughts were crossing my mind and i felt so miserable. but unhappy thoughts are not healthy so i just contented myself by refusing to feel victimised. listening to Javier's If I Get to Heaven.14 more hours. eurrrggggghhh.

mood miffed. by my screwed up body clock. listening to the chinese song on keerling's blog! yes. why am i still not sleeping? *chides self* i honestly tried. was in bed at around 2.45am, tossed, turned, hugged my 3 pillows, wrapped my leg around my bolster, snuggled under my bed cover, wriggled out again after a while cos it was sweltering HOT, looked at the time on my hp, think about some things, tossed some more, looked at the darkness around me (so drama), turned some more, and gave up. and did i mention that having screwed up snoozing hours means having screwed up appetite as well? like what i mentioned, typical daily menu: breakfast no-no, early lunch, dinner, and then my stupid stomach will growl, when all the world has faded into slumber. like now. and so, i crawled out of bed, went to the kitchen and fixed myself a quick macaroni salad (stolen macaroni) with the ham that suz donated to me when she moved out, and the herb-mayonaise i kept from lunch. GOD... i feel like such a pauper. ok that didn't sound quite right. stolen macaroni. you see, it's this macaroni in the kitchen that's been lying around belonging to dont-know-who. and living in hall, you know how people either steal any yummy or expensive food you put in the fridge despite labelling (like suz's Ben & Jerry's and our mango juice yonks ago), or they put their groceries in and promptly forget, leaving them there til they rot. literally. leaving the dirty job to me and suz for cleaning the stinky fridge out of the kindness of our hearts. so if we observe any food that's been untouched for a while, we take. they're better off in our tummy than rotting in the bin. Fair? of course. now suz's left. so i dont think i'm gonna do the cleaning anymore lest i look like some garbage collector. Anyways, so i have come to realise. that i've been too hooked onto the world wide web. for what purposes? beats me. bumming around, checking mails, school workbin, msn, and reading many many blogs which are pleasantly mind-stimulating and worth-reading. and i've also come to conclude, that my laptop-hogging habit isn't as healthy as i would have desired it to be. makes me procrastinate on many things, compromise on some obligations, making things i do anything but perfect as i hoped it would be. And anything less than perfect is mediocrity. I hate mediocrity. I loathe being stagnant. and i don't like half-past-sixes. Be it issues of life, spirituality, academics. Everything shall be resolved. and then i will take one foot forward and start moving on as i should have done long ago. So i'm gonna take a short sabbatical from the net. no more msn. won't blog much too. my laptop is going to the gallows (chio, sounds familiar?) Geez. should have done this BEFORE exams started right? not midway. *snorts* still need the laptop to watch webcast though. hmm... bye-bye! =)

On my way back from cellgroup a while ago, i got a revelation. Love is an action as much as it is an emotion.i made a pact with God today, and honour it I shall. Verse #1 : Genesis 1:27-28 "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish in the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
