mood: wet.
hooked on to: Just the two of us by Bill Withers
My sole surviving guppy (which i pessimistically think isn't gonna live long) is either very stupid or semi-blind. It seems like it's hungry. And while it does it's pokey-pokey movement in search of the crumbs, it misses completely those which just dropped on its head. Do guppies have a sense of touch? enlighten me, somebody.
For the past day it's been swimming around the tank in somewhat jerky movements before proceeding to settle at the bottom of the tank amongst the oxygen crystals for the rest of the hour. Recuperating? resting? thinking of how to eat? or grieving the loss of its companion which departed to a better place (the dustbin) yesterday?
anyways.
went to meet monica this afternoon, after much dilly-dallying for the past month. Received my ultra belated birthday present, which reminds me that i still haven't gotten hers. ^^"
She told me i look like i lost weight. Now people, that was the cue to laugh.
yes, go on. remember to wipe that tear off your eye. done? sitting down still?
oh well, either she is very blind, or we haven't seen each other for seriously too long a time.
I'm halfway through The curious incident of the dog in the night-time by Mark Haddon, a christmas present rudy got me, together with the sinfully comfy bed cover which is guilty hands down for those mornings i was unable to get myself out of bed.
An interesting book written through the eyes and with the mind of an autistic individual who doesn't eat yellow-coloured food and knows every prime number up to 7,057.
This is such a light-hearted read because the nature of the novel makes it such that it uses moderately simple english in autistically unique (no such term i'm sure but you get the idea) long sentences.
Unlike Anna and mister God, a fabulous book which was so absorbing that 3/4 of the time i was trying to capture the author's thoughts in phrases & sentences instead of concentrating on the flow of the story.
So in Mark Haddon's words, an account of my morning would probably be like this:
I got out of bed at a quarter to twelve. It was very late i know but the weather was cool and rainy and i just could not help it. I walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and shower and then came back to my room and got changed. I wore a black top with a pair of beige pants and it took me a very long time to decide because all my clothes look almost the same anyway and it's a bit difficult to choose when you have so little clothes in your wardrobe. I did not have time for breakfast so i just ate one walnut cookie which suzanne gave me for christmas and left for orchard at approximately half past twelve.
that was bad. anyway of course the book isn't so mundane.
off i go!
