mood: broke.
hooked on to: Sunshine by Gabrielle.

i am officially eating too much for my own good. just came back from a Genki sushi dinner with the block girls since suzanne had a 30 dollars vouchers which she had kindly used to fill the stomachs of sushi-suckers like us. ok, correction. sushi suckers like stella and yours truly.
i should have taken more salmon.

Mooncake fest celebration plus block supper is on tonight. supper theme tonight is French. am curious to see what dishes they've whipped out. nothing too fattening i hope.
but oh well, lets just face it. i've been complaining about getting fat most of the time but at the end of the day i still believe that some good foods are worth more than a couple of kilometres run and swim. and frequent meals with rudy who obviously believes in the theory of abundance will safely add a few more extra rounds. :D
now the problem lies with... WHEN shall we get the running started?

there was a bazaar at science fac today. bought 2 pairs of earrings. which i wasnt quite in love with but bought anyway. a while ago i thought that i should start rewarding myself since i havent been shopping for some time. but apparently once you start rewarding yourself it just gets addictive.
very soon i'm gonna have enough earrings to last me a lifetime. but since when do the word enough ever get into a girl's dictionary? never. so there, i just justified myself.

i wish i could just pluck out my tooth. but my dentist had successfully made me rethink my decision. and have i told you i hate to make decisions? they bring nothing but headaches. so lets just hope that the tooth fairy speaks tonight. hmpf.

mood: in absolute pain.
hooked on to: Clarity by John Mayer.

i think i'm in love with John Mayer!

it's been so long since the last time i blogged a proper entry that i've forgotten how to put my thoughts into words. but bad english and mental blocks aside, and since i've not much faith that i'll be able to convey my emotions across anyway, let me just state it plain and simple that this is a happy entry. (hahaa.. yes clement. i got this from you.)

and everything would be just picture-perfect if i dont have this darned tooth bugging me once every few seconds. this morning, it was so distracting that i walked out of my stats lecture. not that running away from having to sit through the lecturer's hongkong-accented statistical speech lessened the pain. but i couldnt concentrate anyway.
took a painkiller 15 minutes ago and it is not working. it didnt work yesterday too.
so does this prove my hypothesis that doctors are just phsychological figures who makes you think that they're getting your nonsense treated but actually they're just draining your bank accounts?? i think so.

but i have digressed.
for the past few weeks i've been cruising along life. even with the piles of readings, tutorials and lab reports impatiently waiting to be completed (and some still are waiting but too bad they just gotta queue up), for once i managed to literally and figuratively wake up and smell the coffee.
i've always been intrigued by life. yesterday during worship i just felt God gently tugging at my heart.

when you went down the valley I'm ahead of you and I keep you going. now that you're coming up the mountain top I'm behind you and I keep you from falling.

Man, isnt God just fantastic? :)

so i've been feeling so blessed. life is just starting to see another chapter of my life unfolding and i'm excited. things are going so well that it's almost surreal.
sometimes we often wonder if good things are just as short-lived as people make it out to be. perhaps before we know it things start losing momentum and we're inevitably forced back into the reality we've grown up believing. that life is just so much.

will it?

but yet through it all, all i can do is put my life in my hands and bring it up to God, believing that all things work together for good to those who love God. and i guess that's enough..

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginnin to end." _Eccl 3:11

mood: feeling fat..
hooked on to: better than life by Hillsong.

the quiz.

The Sonnet
Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLDf)

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

got this off monica's blog and checked it out cos i found it amusing. and realised that it's frighteningly accurate too.

try it.

mood: tired.
hooked on to: The glory of love by New found glory.

ok i just realised that the title of the song above + the artist name overall sounds very cheesy. but it's a nice song nonetheless. courtesy of mark. :D

i've got a statistics mid-term test tmr morning. and like any other sane university student at this point of time (come on, please say you agree), i must say i'm not quite ready for it. but then again, when will we ever?
there's an 8 am morning lecture to attend tomorrow. or should i say later.
the urge to give it a miss is almost to tempting to resist. lets just see if the temptation persists tmr morning. which i daresay will still be lingering.

and speaking of tmr morning, i ought to be shot for not yet sleeping.

for goodness' sake, why on earth am i blogging?? i should be pacing around my room holding stats notes. or sleeping. or something. or behaving the way other self-confessed muggers are most probably behaving.

for the past few days, the thought of changing my major has been uncomfortably drifting in and out of my already too-occupied-for-my-own-good mind.
i just cant help but think that there should be more enjoyment and passion involved if this is gonna be something i'll be doing for, safely say, the next 20 years or so.

i'm not afraid of admitting if i ever happen to make some wrong decisions through the course of my existence.
i'm not afraid of reaching the end of the road the long and hard way.
what i dont want to miss is undoubtedly the fine things of life worth living and sacrificing for. afterall half the joy lies in the journey itself, as much as i still believe in running for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Holy spirit, i long to be closer to you.

"So i say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." _Luke 11:9-10_

mood: overwhelmed.
hooked on to: Angel eyes by Jim Brickman.

i've fallen in love with this piece of instrumental eversince my ears first caught its tune. it evoked a certain incomprehensible emotion which i didnt understand. and probably still dont.

i may not be the most perfect person around. i'm not good with words, i'm often unsure about things, and more often than not, life finds me falling flat on my face and trying hard to get up.
and yet, through all the uncertainties of life, i can only lift up all that i am, give my very best, and be my very self. and hope that when all else fails, i have blessed you.

let God's will be done and not mine.

i'm physically tired, emotionally fantastic, and spiritually rejuvenated! ;)
yesterday's svc was great as usual. i simply cannot imagine myself without the sense of belonging city harvest church has given me.
this is the place where i found God.
and this is the place where God found me.

went out with gideon and rudy to look for guitar after svc. exactly, it felt just like old times.
and gideon, i really do miss you a lot too. throughout all the ups and downs of JC life, despite all the miseries that came along with the fun and joy, you've been such an uplifting friend. you can read me like a book and i'm not sure if there is anything i can say to you that i haven't already said.
if there's any one person i'm thanking God for right now, that person is no doubt you.

life is so exciting.

Thursday, 2 september, 2004.

There's something seriously wrong with blogger. Or rather, my computer. But since Suzanne is also having problems blogging, I suppose it's just the stupid blogger acting up.
I wanted to blog badly. So I'm actually typing this on Microsoft word. Haha.
My mind has been in a state of constant turmoil these few days. In the process of self-actualisation, I realize that the way I look at myself hardly mirrors the way people look at me. In all honesty, I'm more imperfect than you think I could be. And when hopes are shattered and good spirits broken, here I am still standing. Because I'm just me. And I cant help but be me.

If only people are bestowed with the ability to say the right things at the right time. If only we never have to read minds. If only we don’t have to be hurt. If only friends always have time for each other.

It's raining cats and dogs outside. I've always loved rain (minus muddy soil and wet shoes). Somehow or another it has a strangely calming effect. My windows are wide open and man, I’m gonna have a time of my life wiping the water droplets on the floor later.

life. intriguing.

mood: ecstatic!

i've finally gotten baptised today! i'm now.. ehem.. Felicia Deanne Tiaras. :)
was in Rudy's studio until wee hours yesterday using his computer and he was helping me with the names. but Gideon dearest just had to ruin it by calling me "the-end" throughout the day.

anyway, i've been feeling tremendously blessed by the things that have been happening these past few days. truly, God works in miraculous ways and looking at how He's worked wonders in the lives of people dear to me, He's impacted and blessed me as well. what i'm feeling now is simply undescribable and i'm not exactly in the right state of mind to write flowery and emotional blog entries. haha. i've just been grinning like a fool the whole day to emphasise my point. :)

am typing on suzanne's laptop. now gotta run and do my urgently beckoning lab report. hai.

mood: fed up
hooked on to: with all i am by Hillsongs.

my laptop has officially gone haywire after mark further aggravated it yesterday. haha. and i'm jolly well irritated by my own helplessness and idiocy in computer which results in me giving repetitive blank looks when people tried to explain stuff to me regarding my diseased laptop. mannn... and yesterday was such a bad day i shall not go into details cos i'll probably get into fits.

work, work, work.

am now in briony's house after cellgroup typing on her desktop, while my laptop is camping at the NUS computer centre, hopefully in the process of getting fixed. hopefully i'll get it back in 2-3 days, which come to think of it, is actually not such a fantastic idea afterall since i wont ever get down to studying with my laptop at such a close proximity. sitting on my table and staring straight back at me.
anyway, i dont even know what's wrong with it. different people are telling me different things and i couldnt even explain myself properly without further making myself look like such a computer illiterate. seriouly i should get a computer course or something.

miserable.

anyway, i had ten thousand thoughts running through my mind for days but couldnt blog it. so it shall just remain as history. dont want to rehearse what happened.
hopefully can resume blogging soon. gotta run for now!
