mood: good good.
hooked on to: something about you by five for fighting.

passion is an attractive force. it is.
i'm having my statistics lecture break now. didnt really need my laptop actually but since i gotta go to the MPSH to collect my extra 256MB RAM and obviously i have no idea how to install it eventhough i know that i definitely could have done it once i see how it's done, my laptop is coming with me. and man, my fingers are practically itching so i just gotta blog. or something.

as usual i was fashionably late (not) for lecture again for the zillionth time. therefore had to resort to sitting right at the back row which has no tables despite jian wei having kindly reserved a seat for me somewhere out there. and catwalking down to the middle of the Lt when you are late is either a successful attempt to get people to notice your fashion statement for the day or a reputational suicide, both of which dont exactly appeal to me.

and now that it's break time, people just HAD to walk past to and fro and it doesnt help that already i dont even have much leg space and i'm having my laptop (and my bag, thick file, pencil case, handphone and the notes for the day) sitting nicely on my lap. every now and then i gotta squeeze myself in and let people get past and for goodness' sake my laptop is dangerously being shifted up and down and up and down. and this girl just gotta ask me to exchange seats with her so that she can talk to her friend.
so i'm trying to be nice while having to stomach all the annoyance while trying to blog.
not very effective.
will resume later.

mood: broke.
hooked on to: someone like me by atomic kitten.

right. i should learn how to say no.

accident prone. very.
i have absolutely no idea what misfortune has befallen me the past couple of days. i seem to be getting cuts here and there like nobody's business. first it was the unfriendly chair who decided to give way when i was sitting on it and cut the back of my ankle to complete the whole drama. then it was the hockey thing. i tell you my two fingers are like on the verge of getting cramps from the inability to bend these few days. showering has been quite a hassle.

THEN. yesterday when i was in my room, somehow or another by an unknown force which was definitely not in my favour, i managed to bang my toe against the leg of my chair, slicing off a small part of the top skin layer. there was quite a lot of blood oozing out, and a drop or two coincidentally smudged on one of my papers. MAN.
it looks okay now. but since the cut is in between the toes, the friction makes it damn uncomfortable. was walking with a limp this morning. people probably thought i was some cripple escaped from NUH. great.. what's next..
i'm suddenly quite worried about this sunday's hockey match. would i still be alive???

collected my printer yesterday and had it installed myself. yay! isnt that fantastic? haha. so i'm not that useless afterall. :)

tired. sleepy. broke beyond belief.

sigh.

mood: aching all over.
hooked on to: overjoyed by Jars of Clay.

i'm now munching on the ginseng bits in the herbal tea that rudy made me. seriously, the first one i know who actually knows how to make herbal tea. haha..
thanks for being so thoughtful!

i scratched my fingers on the rough grounds of the sports centre while trying to reverse-stop the hockey ball. now i've got two small ugly dent on my knuckles the colour of bright red. and i really mean bright red. almost like the colour of bak kwa you eat during chinese new year. but then again, i guess being the accident-prone person that i am in the hockey field, i shouldnt be complaining since worse things have happened. hopefully i'll come out of hockey IBG alive and walking.

yay, i love my new IKEA thermoflask. now i dont need to walk all the way to the pantry to get ice water. -grin- thanks yinshuo!

i cant figure out my stats lecture notes. for real. when the lecturer was talking today it suddenly struck me that i was literally listening to the yabbering of an alien. it was that bad. and hey! tutorial is tomorrow, and i've been blankly staring at the undecipher-able 7qns-single-sheet paper. tell me what to do..

fiona is coming frm seattle tmr.. kinda excited, though i still cant believe my all-over-the-world friends never stop by for more than 24 hours. therefore the perpetually crazy schedule for every other fated day. tmr.. breakfast with her highness till 11am since she's catching a 3pm flight (see what i mean?). speaking of which, she's supposed to gimme a call once she arrives at midnight. so why isnt my hp ringing? hmm.
then, rush back to campus for lecture & tutorial, 5pm off i go to meet my mum who just arrived today.

therefore, i should be zzz-ing. stats tutorial, my sincerest apology.. :)

mood: blessed!
hooked on to: breathe your name by sixpence none the richer.

i'm supposed to be doing my CM1101 tutorial but obviously my laptop nicely positioned an arm's reach away has proven to be too much of a distraction.

today's service was absolutely smashing, esp with the Hillsong united team leading praise and worship. and i never fail to lose myself whenever pst Ulf comes to town & preach. He's just fantastic and there was so much faith imparted.
i'm so happy for alex for his newfound gift of tongues today! and also by how visibly blessed he was by the service today.. indeed, the presence of the Lord in our hearts brings forth unquenchable joy. :)
went for my water baptism class after that. sitting there listening in the class, i just couldnt help but feel grateful for all that God has made me gone through. because good or bad, they moulded me into what i am today.
inward righteousness is not completed until there is an outward act of obedience.
i'm so very very happy.. man, what a great sunday..

hmm.. i forgot what i wanted to blog about. how ah..
will resume when my blood starts flowing to my brain again. for now, back to tutorial it is..

mood: as dead as dead can be.
hooked on to: My source by CHC.

yikes. i just went to the kitchen to get some ice for my water and while i was concentrating on yanking the ice cubes which have stubbornly stuck to the bottom of the tray, this damned piece of ice cut into my finger & it's still oozing blood. man, it stings..

and did i tell you i fell off the chair twice for the past two days? and as a bonus i cut my leg in the process. what's up, man??!

pardon me for the lack of creativity in filling up the mood indicator (see above). nowadays it's either tired, or hungry, or tired, or just tired.
i'm not trying to be funny, just plainly telling the truth. today has been particularly draining, since i was sleeping a pathetic an hour and a half before setting off early this morning. and -ehem- somebody fell asleep in my room. :D

in fact i couldnt remember the last time i feel so absolutely lethargic and shagged. it was like whenever i close my eyes the next second i wonder off the dreamland. thus, i've been spending most of today falling asleep everywhere. and i mean everywhere.
took the shuttle bus with moses from tanah merah to church thinking that it'll be faster to go back to hall frm boon lay but the journey turned out to be butt-numbing all the same. succumbed to taking cab from clementi mrt. forgot that it was peak hour so that short ride cost me 5 bucks. at that time i guess i didnt bother. when you're that tired comfort gets first priority aye? but now that i'm back in hall and my wallet is significantly thinner, i'm feeling the pinch. ouch.

went for cellgroup today and it was so fantastic.. was really blessed and particularly ministered to when jo prayed. indeed the word of God is a discerner of thoughts.. :)

the time now is 8.56pm eventhough my body clock has probably adjusted to some other unknown timezone yet to be discovered. am going to reunite with my bedsheet-less but nice bed very very soon. the half cold shower perked me up for a while. however the effect is wearing off fast and threatening to hit level zero, as indicated by how much lower my eyelids have drooped.

funny.. i'm like dead tired but somehow i just always manage to go against the odds and muster what energy left to blog.
ok lights out. cant take it liao. -faints-

my block people are having steamboat supper at 11 later. oh WHY??? gabriel said i should sleep now and wake up again for supper later. that was abt 45 min ago. and til now i'm still awake. should i? should i not? steamboat sounds so tempting, especially since my dinner today consisted of red bean buns. bleargh.

i wish there are 48 hours a day. life this week has been a little too much to handle. unatttempted tutorials, unsettled miscellaneous matters which amount to quite a great deal. not mentioning the hoo-ha about the tuition grant thingy yesterday night. or should i say, very early this morning. but more on that next time.
have been shuffling here and there to meet up with my auntie too. yesterday & today. gotta go down to national cancer centre early tmr morning. then rush back to campus for nonstop lecture, prac & tutorial from 12-7pm.
more on all those next time. i'm completely whacked out now. just wanted to rant somewhere. now i'm done.

mood: hit with reality.
hooked on to: now and forever by Richard Marx.

ok that's it. no more blogging starting tomorrow.

fine. lets be a little more realistic. no more blogging often starting tomorrow.

but then again, lets take a step further by admitting that resolutions dont always get done. inevitably and unfortunately.

i really gotta start settling down when it comes to school work. somehow i'm still trapped in the honeymoon period, dreamily wandering in lala land thinking that life after A levels is a bed of roses. throw in a couple of chocolates.
but apparently that's not the case. of course i know that too. but dont you just agree that knowledge is one thing, acknowledgement is a different realm altogether.
so i hereby declare that i'm gonna aspire to be a bespectacled mugger starting now.
err... i mean, after i finish blogging this.

but seriously, it was on that fateful day, being dead-tired from sleeping so little for the past week thanks to hall activities, literally zombie-ing into lecture theatres, falling asleep in my room & not remembering how on earth it happened, waking up when lab was supposed to be starting, scrambling all around science fac not knowing where the bloody lab was, that it struck me. i'm not serious enough about being in university. i dont want to be galivanting my way through freshman year and then crying out to God for help during exams. no more.
you may think it's silly to be saying all this so soon, but having gone through what i have, all i can say is that you decide how you wanna live your life.

anyway! on a lighter note, hmm. what did i do today..
totally skipped my 2 lectures today. one intended, another one unfortunately missed. got difference okay. went to meet my auntie who just came from indonesia. she's one of the most amazing woman i've ever met, eventhough i'm ashamed to say that i havent been showing as much love as i should, being so frequently placed at the receiving end of her affection.
it's sad to see someone you've grown up living with, withering away with age and illness. i must say that my health-freak trait is significantly thanks to her contribution.
i guess one of the things i fear the most is not cockroaches, stairs (surprise, surprise), or an F grade on my exam paper. it really is watching people i love dying.

so people, eat healthy okay..

okay.. that was supposed to be "on a lighter note". turned out it wasnt that light afterall.
on a lighter-er note! i met up with my other auntie today. the one who misses me. *wink*
it so happened that she was in town too so she asked me to lunch with her. apparently her new-found business has been turning out surprisingly well. so we were scouting for eateries in paragon & finally settled in spaggedies. i nearly hyper-ventilated when i saw the prices in the menu. but that was before she generously said that the meal was on her. yay!
had lasagna with ricotta cheese filling & tomato meat sauce and an oreo cheesecake for dessert. mannn.. the cheesecake was a killer. shall go there again hopefully soon. :)

earlier on, was strolling in wisma before meeting my auntie mentioned earlier in mt. E. got myself a pair of sandals. not feeling guilty abt this cos i jolly well need more shoes & sandals. we just never can get enough shoes, agree? guys need not apply.

went to buy some stationary too and i cant believe i took an hour to choose a stupid file. oh well, better believe it cos i am that fickle. welcome to my world.

ok if i dont stop here i can jolly well be blogging forever.
remember, resolutions, resolutions... -eurghh-
hopefully i can get enough work done tonight.

mood: full yet hungry.
hooked on to: On bended knees by Boyz II men.
eating: Ritz cheese cracker. (fattening...)

just came back not long ago from the "girls' block supper"... we were supposed to prepare some food to be shared amongst the block girls. me, suzanne, wenlee & nicole prepared potato wedges & nuggets. you know slack people.. fry here & there and voila, there you have our dish. but apparently the others arent such kitchen enthusiasts as well so it didnt make us look bad. although i probably drove half of them nuts being the health freak that i am.
come on people, ridiculously oily food can give you coronary heart attack! and dont come looking for me when you get fat.
soon. ^^
speaking of which, i suddenly miss being back in indonesia when i have the kitchen all to myself. and a maid to clean it all. mwahaha.
everything turned out alright.. although sadly, i must admit that block activities sometimes become such a drag.
afterall what more can you expect other than mundane and shallow Q & A sessions.
are you attached? what do you look for in a guy? which of the guy seniors/freshies appeal to you the most? you have to choose one.
so tell me something i'm not already expecting.
at the end of the day i still prefer world peace.

ok dont shoot me.

anyway, i used to have hardly enough time for myself back in my guardian's place & it turned out that i'm not that much better off living in hall. *yawn*

although of course, i would still choose sheares over sengkang. anytime.

i still think that my auntie misses me. HAHA. thick-skinned i know. she just msged me asking if i'll be coming back this weekend. unfortunately i cant.
gonna set off early in the morning tmr to mt. Elizabeth to meet my auntie who just arrived frm jkt. really looking forward to pst. peter chu's conference this thursday.. :)

i feel blessed. God has been so faithful in my life & what more can i ask?

i need to sleep. although not as badly as yesterday where i TOTALLY concussed and ended up late for my first fst lab session & zombied all around science fac looking for the friggin' lab.
i think my dark rings are here to stay. seriously.

mood: concussed.
listening to: ST1232 lecture.

i'm still feeling conked out & my eyes are threatening to do a shut-down act especially with the hongkong-accented lecturer's monotonous buzzing in the background. dozing at this point of time seems extremely tempting. hmm..
not that i'm not attempting to pay attention but come to think of it, the first few lecture materials are really not that worth listening to. then again you may choose to think that i'm saying all this in the sheer attempt to console myself for the lack of determination. either way is correct anyway. haha.

now i'm thankful that i bought the 13.3" laptop instead of the 15" toshiba which is a kilo heavier since i realise that i've been bringing my baby around quite often. my laptop is so light & comfortable to carry that it's almost sinful. :D
and bringing it around is good because, surprise, surprise... i forgot to bring my specs again.

there's a book sale later, hopefully can get some nice, USEFUL, cheap textbook. after that i really ought to be heading back hall to catch some sleep. cant go on like this, i really havent been functioning properly. will get down to trying to do my LSM 1101 tutorial later too. hopefully i'll be able to get my notes back from khala very very soon & not wait til the next semester or something. seriously, i should be thanking God for giving me so many forgetful friends who have absolutely no sense of time. they really taught me to stretch my limit of patience. man, i never thought i'm capable of waiting around for people for so long. really.

yesterday's 15th anniversary svc was so good. even with such a huge congregation it felt so homely to be gathering together in joyous celebration. i can never imagine what i would be without God and the sense of acceptance & belonging He gave. i would probably still be sulking my days away thinking that there's only so much to life.
may be playing guitar for cellgroup for the first time this saturday. am so excited but then again, i'm really not sure if i'm up to standard. been practising whenever i can (which isnt as often as i would like it to be) but i guess i'll just have to see how it goes.
no biggie.. i've always believed that promotion comes not from man, but from God. and God is faithful to carry out whatever He promised.

ok. lecture break. yay.

anyway, went off to city hall to watch the last of the fireworks festival with some of the cellgroup. it was smashing. but most importantly the company were great.
came back at close to ten & went off to fac of arts to celebrate raymond's bday.
made my way back to hall at 12.30 midnight, at which point i was on the verge of falling asleep on the road. but surprisingly the moment i reached my room i could still muster some energy to try out the chords for the worship song we just learnt, do some laundry, talk to a few people on msn, eat the last few pieces of pringles left. now my room has no more food.
blacked out at around 2.30am, woke up at 8.30. not enough.

by now i'm more or less settled in sheares, the only thing i dislike being the fact that i hardly have time for myself, which was violently agreed by clement when i told him that on our way back. life in hall is really too busy for my own good. for now at least.

oh SHIT. i just remembered that lab starts today. so i got an hour before it starts & i gotta go all the way back to sheares to grab my labcoat and there goes my sleep. *poof*
great.

ok dont want to blog liao. hrmpf.

mood: tired to the max.
hooked on to: most high by Hillsong.

i hope coffee still works for me.
came back not very long ago from cellgroup. had wen lee joining us today and everything was so fun. i love my cellgroup. :)
not gonna describe much about my day, all i can say is that i'm feeling so extremely shagged that i think i can break the Guinness world record for falling asleep in the shortest time.
However, here i am sipping hot coffee, hoping that i can stay awake cos i badly want to practice my guitar. havent been able to do so for the past few weeks due to the hectic schedule.
actually, come to think of it, i cant even make out what is it that i've been busy with. we dont even have tutorials & lab pracs yet. i guess relating to people keeps me busy. haha.
seriously, it really does take a lot of effort to communicate thoughtfully & effectively.

so excited for the 15th anniversary svc & celebration tmr!!!!!!!!!! how i wish everyone share the same excitement as i do.
hmm.. took a cold shower so hopefully my two eyes are gonna co-operate & stay wide open for the next few hours.

guitar!

edited* (3.29am)
spent quite some time in wen lee's room talking & watching kai siang playing guitar. oh MAN. he's amazing. seriously, first impression can be deceivingly inaccurate.

i finally got the praise song strumming pattern right. yay! now i can play "most high". how pleasing! anyway, was walking into the lift when i saw my reflection in the mirror & realised that i've got an absolutely hideous shade of green under my eyes. not that i dont normally have them but this one is horrendous. it's so ugly. i wish i have a concealer or something to mask it tomorrow. but unfortunately i dont. shucks.

so the point i'm trying to make is, lack of sleep makes me look ugly. and i feel ugly now. absolutely. extremely.

mood: unwillingly awake.
hooked on to: all my life by KCI & jojo.

i've gotten used to the idea that i'll simply NEVER get down to sleeping early. somehow or another hall life plus early night is just an impossible equation.
formal dinner last tuesday, which involved us requiring to ask a senior to be our date so as to sit with them + exchange present. haha. how silly. speaking of which, i could never understand why the lives of some people around me seem to revolve only around gossips and bgr-related issues. with all due respect to personal opinions, i would think that if only they care to step out of their little prison, they would find that life really offers much much more. :)

block initiation on wed, which was an elaborate & bombastic affair involving us being blind-folded and subjected to a round of makeover using delicious ingredients such as flour, eggs, detergents and the like. apparently the guys didnt have enough sense to steer decently clear from our hair. so by the end of everything, which was about 11pm, the girls had a hell of a time washing their shirts, which were infested with flour globules. my God. and the HAIR!!!
and all those were before they grabbed us on all fours and dunked us into freezing cold ice water and throwing us upwards & dunking us again. they call it "ponding". man...
and on both nights the seniors continued their undying tradition of... yeah, u guessed it.
supper.
so i went eventhough i was extremely bummed out.

thursday, national day dinner celebration, in which me, suzanne, wen lee & kaisiang sneaked off after the dinner & drove off to jurong point for a window-shopping session. since kaisiang had his dad's car, the 3 of us were very happy girls that night. haha.
came back just 15 minutes before everything ended, just in time to show our faces, eat some cakes & collect the goodie bag. ok i'm sounding very cheapskate..
i'm not okay.

yesterday. lecture, then went off to meet the forza gang to study for a while. which was quite SCARY to witness cos it made me feel like a slacker queen amongst them all. which is probably not that far from the truth.
got psycho-ed into going for the astronomy club welcome tea by jasmine & yinshuo in the evening, so i went. sat through some committee talk in which i couldnt figure out the head & tail of it cos felicia the vainpot with short term memory didnt bring her specs. afterwards, they took us to the field to see the stars, in which half of the time i was either squinting my eyes trying to locate non-existent stars or nursing a headache after borrowing yinshuo's specs in the desperate attempt to see them.

i'm now in the study lounge supposedly studying & doing my first tutorial, which i've come to realise, is actually not really do-able. i'm not sure if it's because they're tough or is it because i'm lousy & have forgotten 99.99% of my JC work. somehow i'm inclined to think that it's more of the latter. sadly.
man, i love my laptop.

so all in all, hall life has been quite happening, albeit physically draining. been sleeping an average of 5 hours everyday. been planning to hit the 8hrs mark but it's simply not gonna happen. yet.
i'm enjoying my life. :)
you get to live only once, so make the most out of it. life is too short for regrets.

mood: sleepy. irritated. HUNGRY.

ok. a quick post.
i'm now typing a first entry using my new fujitsu notebook. oh baby.. :D
glad to have finally laid my hands on this baby after waiting an hour and a half to collect it from the MPSH.
but.
it's driving me nuts because of the sheer fact that i'm a self-declared computer idiot whose minuscule and pathetic knowledge of computer does not suffice in operating this thing effectively. i dont know what i did to it but apparently i mixed up the user names (the NUS network thingy is complicated, man. we're talking about me here. so do lower your standard.)
so somehow i couldnt log on. & this senior in my block is nice enough to spend a few hours helping me reformat the whole thing & configure the wireless connection & network bla bla -snores- til about half an hour ago.
the time now is 4.25am. so there goes my plan to sleep early. tomorrow--> die.
and now i cant sign in to msn due to some unknown reason related to some administrator thingy.
ARGHHHHHHHH.
i think i should go buy the idiot's guide to computer or something. seriously.

oh mannnnn... i've been missing this old elephant! am now in my guardian's house to spend the night cos it's isabella's bday tmr. i think me & computer has a kind of unique love-hate relationship. loathing it but absolutely cant live without it.
havent blogged for 2 weeks, excluding the speedy entry a few days back. many things have happened in that short period of time. mostly orientation, eventhough i cant say that sheares o-week was a bombastic affair. it was rather slack, and people started their disappearing act by the 2nd day. but then again, all in all, life in hall has been quite exciting. living in close proximity with people, sleeping so late (record being 6.30am, beat that!), supper, supper and more supper.
and i'm thankful that my block girls are a fun-loving and noisy bunch. suzanne the drama queen is a plus. haha!

will be collecting my fujitsu notebook on tuesday. *grin*
i'm crossing my fingers and toes that i wont be having regrets about the purchase. you know me.. fickle, indecisive. i mean seriously, why settle for 2nd best when you can have the best, right or not? so i was pondering over the toshiba 15" $2300plus notebook, or the fujitsu 13.3" $2600plus darling. finally decided on the latter after much consideration and procrastination, eventhough i still love the widescreen laptops. oh well, choices, choices. seriously, money would have made everything easy but unfortunately such luxury is not yet available to me. haha.

in reminiscence, i've been feeling greatly blessed. i thank God that He's forever faithful and that He doesnt leave my prayers unanswered. i thank God that He's willing.
i'm glad about how things have turned out to be. i can only pray that my faith is gonna sustain me and pull me through. :)

svc today was great. went to cityhall with the rest & headed to marche to sit-eat-talk. afterwards went to meet the nus chc people. lo and behold, the programme of the day was... the food amazing race. oh man!! it was so funny. was in for a shock when i found out some of the stations stretch all the way to bugis & chinatown. and i was expecting a short gather-together-eat-food-go-home kind of an outing. as a result i couldnt make it in time to join back the rest to see the fireworlks thingy. but it was fun nonetheless! 5 years since my last visit to chinatown and boy, the food there looked good siah. didnt have much time to eat around though. the next cellgrp outing! ehem-ehem.

oh well, been a long and sleepless week. i'm sure there'll be plenty more ahead but for now, off to bed i go.
Zzzzz...

mood: sleep-deprived.
eating: apple.

living in hall feels like living in a whole new world altogether. it feels strangely liberating & such a refreshing change too. for once i can stay out & go for supper til wee hours without getting locked out (hah!).
and speaking of supper. MAN, hall life is damn unhealthy. i practically spend half of my waking moments walking to and fro fong seng scouting for things to eat. and the best thing is, you dont even need to be hungry in order to go for supper. you just do it cos it seems like the right thing to do. kinda like a declaration of freedom for not having anymore curfews. haha.

am now typing using my friend's new toshiba laptop which i'm immensely jealous of. since i've yet to lay hands on mine. hmpf!
shall resume bloggin when my fujitsu 13.3" lifebook arrives. *drools*
