mood: half-alive

i'm running a fever now. how come the ice-pack isnt helping at all?? think all pharmaceutical medical aids which are supposed to help you recover are just a hoax. sheesh.. now i'm feeling like some stuffed turkey in an oven waiting to be served and chopped up for thanksgiving. appetising. not.

and doctors should all just retire to some secluded caves and experiment with bacteria and viruses or something. you know, work on killing the whole lot.
my nose is running like some spoilt water tap. irritating. thank goodness the sorethroat is gone.

orientation for fac of science starts on 5th july. there was another one a week plus ago but obviously i couldnt be there. anyway, the orientation isnt compulsory though and i'm still contemplating whether or not to join. it's 4D3N and since i'm reaching s'pore only the day before, it's gonna be quite a cruel timetable for the week. hrmfff..

i think i'm dehydrated. my lips crack and bleed when i attempt to smile. or laugh. or stretch it in any manner.

oh why??? *grabs another tissue paper*

went out for a short while with my sister yesterday to shop for my little bro's bday present. was wearing my mum's slipper, the same one that alex stepped on and caused the strap to snap into two and resulted in the inability to walk on my part. (ALEX LOH ZHENG HUI ARE YOU READING??) haha. ok it was an accident i know. :D
anyway, i was saying, i was wearing that exact same slipper and walking happily when my sister's foot landed on it and caused it to give way in the exact manner that my slippers did, courtesy of alex.
yay.. anyone wanna throw confetti or something?

numero uno, there definitely is something wrong with the fellas who made these slippers. maybe i ought to sue them.
number two, even so, i dont understand why i should be the one who repeatedly experience the consequence of their incompetence.
argh!

i'm flying off on USA's independence day. hopefully the terrorists have decided not to do anything funny on that day. or better still, on any other day as well.

mood: lethargic.
playing in my head: what took you so long by emma bunton.

apparently i'm falling sick again. bah... humbug...
thanks to my dear brother's unconcealled and somewhat unnaturally loud coughs. i'm fine with that really, if he doesnt do it in my face like once every few minutes. now i know that siblings are supposed to care and share but i jolly well am sure that that does not include germs.
my head feels so heavy and my eyes watery. great.
now i just hope that this will give me an early night today.
so tired of tossing and turning in my bed til 3 am in the morning. frustrating! not to mention unproductive.
all the best to gideon for the mid years! :)

mood: ...
hooked on to: Right here waiting by Richard Marx.

maybe i should just do away with the mood indicator line on top since most of the time i hardly know what is my mood for the moment. do feel free to come and analyse.
i got my confirmation mail from NUS residential services quite a while ago. so it seems that i've gotten myself a place at the hostel. sheares hall. yay!
hopefully it'll turn out to be a good experience. anyway, i'll probably turn out to be the only dork who will need to haul a mountain-high worth of belongings to squeeze into the tiny room. the rest of the lucky singaporeans probably just need to bring a luggage or two leaving the rest of their stuff back home sweet home. better still, they can just take a bus or train down & haul them back at their convenience. sure i can do that too, if not considering the fact that home is an ocean and a few thousands islands away.
sheesh, now i'm getting really really envious.

hmmm.. wonder how their laundry system is like.

watched a beautiful mind on dvd (or is it vcd?) a few days ago. yeah, i know most of my news are boring and not to mention outdated. i forgot to blog, alright? ok, honest. i was too lazy to blog.
and cant do anything about the boring part. my life's as exciting as an elephant's remember? scroll down.
social life, zero. absolutely nil.
baked brownies 2 days ago though! nice! i'm not kidding you. ask my bro and sis.
*shoots dagger looks at them*

*siblings nod in agreement*

see, i told you. recipe anyone? :D

anyway, before i digressed, was saying that i watched a beatiful mind.
it was such a fantastic (albeit old) show.. about a genius mathematician, a nobel prize winner John Nash who battled with schizophrenia. and a wife who stuck by him through it all.
now dont go awwwww on me. it wasnt at all sweet, mushy or romantic in a teenie-bopping kind of way.
it was real. and a true story bytheway. and it forces one to look at reality eyeball to eyeball. how much would you genuinely do for the one you truly said you love? or will reality find you questioning what exactly is the definition of love you thought you knew all along. deviated as one puts it.
i pray that when the time comes i wont fall victim to the latter.

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." _1 John 4:18

mood: bloated.
hooked on to: soldier from Hillsong united.

DUMPLINGS! been eating lots of those. a dumpling for breakfast, a dumpling for lunch, a dumpling for dinner, a dumpling for supper.
come on you people, i know what you're thinking. i'm NOT a glutton eventhough my blog entries make me sound like one.
my mum has been making those dumplings and WHY, OH WHY must she make so many??? now whenever i innocently say that i'm feeling a little hungry, she goes, "wanna eat a dumpling?" and i would go, "oh-kay.." cos i dont want her to feel that her dumplings are unwanted and also, since i get to eat the stuff she cooks only twice a year.
it's not that her dumplings are not nice. they are. so i'm not complaining. i'm just emphasising on how blessed i am. really.
man, my mum can cook.

come to think of it, i didnt put on that much weight afterall! mwahaha. i think.

anyway, just came back from one of my rare shopping trips (temporary loss of interest, God knows why.) with mum and sis.
i got myself one nice fitting pair of jeans from my ever so faithful body & soul. probably half my wardrobe hails from there and you know what? i think they should start employing me cos i'm probably already their walking advertisement. oh and one nice top from one of those australian surfer shops.
yay. shopping makes me happy. maybe not all the time but to a great extent. which is good enough to be considered retail therapy.

and OH. OH. OH. OH. i have not bought khala's present.

*bangs self against the wall*

i wish i'm better with words. be it spoken or written. but unfortunately i'm not.
just a while ago, i was marvelling at how time seems to have a mind of its own. it hitches its pants and zooms ahead just when you wish with all your heart that it stops.
it crawls to a near absolute stop just when you would give almost anything in the world for it to pick up a speed or two.
the funny thing is, right now i'm not sure what i really want.
i'm not sure if this time which i've unrepentantly taken for granted will be better off ahead or behind me.

it's amazing how time changes people. saddening too.
and while most can simply pick out the foreign bodies and decide in a second if they are to be done away with or that maybe, just maybe, the growing pain is just a phase to be accepted. to be loved.

yet some are never in the light of understanding what is the agent of the change so undesired. the hand that cruelly switched off the light and left everything suddenly a shade darker. lonelier.
not comprehending if the signs are correctly deciphered and understood.
thinking, if only the faces speak.
and that when they get to the greener side, are you still part of the picture?
or have you so perfectly blended with the wallpapers that your existence has become nothing more than an unavoidable side effect that cant be helped.

or maybe it's just the sheer unwillingness to draw a defined line between now and then. the stubbornness to let go of the beauty of the moment.
that all good things must come to an end somehow. that life is but countless valleys to be crossed. to be defeated.

yours truly.

i am seeing red.

i just slipped into one of my oldest pair of jeans (which i took superb care of since i was 15 & still looks decently new. ha.)
once upon a time, when it was just out of the shop and still had its tag on, it was nicely fitting. maybe a tad loose.
when i just got into JC with my hellish timetable which required me to intelligently decide which lectures to skip & which homework to bother doing (and which teachers to look out for), this piece of denim hung loosely at my hip. and i kinda wished it would stay there forever. which is one big fat hope.
and i discovered an unpleasant piece of news, less than 10 minutes ago, that my dear ol' pair of jeans is now snugly (kinda suffocatingly) hanging only a little bit below my waist.
please dont tell me that you need me to elaborate on the significance of the above paragraph, or you'll be seeing red next.

*wails...*

i'm off to HRC. resume later. but then again, maybe not. haha.

wheeeeeeee!
alright. i'm back again. not sure if it's good or bad.
just finished watching Love the Hard Way. featuring Adrien Brody. dark, disturbing. nevertheless surprisingly moving. not very good in writing movie synopsis so go catch it yourself if you trust my taste.
ahhh... i think i'm about to become a movie addict. was watching the Pirates of the Carribean but i guess this must be one amateur-DVD-copying gone a little bonkers. lots of irritating pauses. so got tired & stopped watching.

anyways, spent quite a long time on guitar today! only realised how long i've been holding it when i took my hands off it for while and realised my left wrist was sore and aching. haha. but it was such a new experience singing the worship songs while playing the guitar. never quite done it before but it was strangely liberating. and no doubt the presence of God came. :)
found a great website which specifically teach you guitar chords. it's a heaven-sent. :) here.
truly when you take baby steps of faith while embracing His promises, breakthrough comes.

okay this is bad. i thought i was feeling sleepy a while ago and was thinking that i can finally go to bed after typing this entry. but now i'm wide awake all over again. sheesh.

mood: ...
hooked on to: to where you are by josh groban.

a week and a half gone!
it's scary how 24 hours whizzed by frighteningly fast nowadays without me having a clue why. notice the repetition? scary. frighteningly.
anyway, nothing worth mentioning have been happening in my life. in fact life has been so stagnant that it's making me restless. school starts soon. cant quite wait. hopefully it will turn out more but nothing less than expected. have had enough disappointments nowadays really.
surprisingly, neither the shopping nor suntanning mood has kicked in yet. for the past one week i'm home most of the time. which actually mildly surprised my mum. guess she isnt accustomed to my presence here minus the nagging and pleading for her to drive me out and about.
yes, please dont ask about the driving thingy. anyway i've kinda thought that it'll be quite pointless to learn since i wont be having a car in s'pore anyway. so back to the point, i've been at home a lot.
and what struck me is the fact that i've been preferring to be on my own rather than in the company of people. especially since my sister practically tails me everywhere i go.

and since i'm at home most of the time, my life now is probably nearly as exciting as an elephant's.
oh..i just discovered that i have a cavity. a cavity!!
and u know what i've learnt?
i learnt that the honey bunches of oats cereal taste very good! and the cucumber mask thing actually works. it helps to calm your skin. and also, eating a lot of prunes prevents constipation. yay.

on to less biologiccal issues, the DVDs here are so cheap! my goodness. the pirated one is only 3 bucks a piece. and the image & colour quality is superb i tell ya. e-ed was just expressing her amusement at my ignorance that our country is indeed full of cheap pirated goods. something i should have apparently realised donkey years ago.
so yesterday was spent watching movies. and watching movies. and watching movies. and eating pringles.
not to mention another bagloads of loaned DVDs. party, man.
so yesterday watched Along came Polly, Big Fish, and Dr. Doolittle 2.
today cant decide to start with Mystic River, Center Stage, Timeline, or 50 First Dates. and still've got Pirates of the Carribean, League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen, a Beautiful Mind etc etc.
i'm gonna go back and buy the Gothika. or is it Gothica?

anyway, wanna apologise to some people for not having been online v diligently these past few days. truth is i've been pretty bummed up. dont even feel like blogging anymore actually. this blog is quite lifeless anyway.
so ed.. if you're reading. sori yah non, gue dah jarang nge-blog di blog kita itu. know that u've been feeling down. gue sering baca koq. do cheer up eventho gue may seem out of sight but gue am still here and masih mikirin elo koq. haha.. :)

mood: bouncy.
hooked on to: jumping to the jam to the great I am. haha!

weather looks good today. finally had a decent sleep after 3 days worth of crazy and monstrous queues, skipping dinner, bad-smell-filled shuttle bus, climbing a few HDB flats worth of stairs, muscle cramps, but not to mention great programmes. fantastic praise & worship. :)
was the best 3 days of the past 3 months back here.
went to meet khala yesterday to wish her an early happy bday, ate sakae sushi, which was as good as always, except that they seriously need to put more things on the conveyor belt. this is bad. i've run out of good eateries. keep going back to the same place. suggestions anyone? no answer. it's okay.
took cab to church. now i owe someone money. aiyah.
oh well! gotta go back to some more last minute packing.. i hate this. whenever i pack i always get the feeling that i left out something. i may. i may not. arghhh...
bye!
